8/10/06 away to Bristol Central.

A fine autumn morning and pitch in fine condition greeted the Fry Club girls this week away to Bristol Central Girls.

The Fry Girls started slowly and played far too deep allowing Bristol Central to keep possession in the Fry Club half, the result of this was Bristol Central went 1-0 up after five minutes.

The Fry Club girls then seemed to rally and Danni managed to break out on several long range solo runs this seemed to spark a bit of self belief in the team and Amy then scored a cracker which brought the scores level at 1-1.Bristol Central kept up the pressure but some solid defending from Emily Tite, Alice and Emma along with some fine saves from Charlotte kept them at bay. As per usual Amy was giving the oppositions defenders a hard time on the break and came close on several occasions. The Fry Club girls were now passing freely on the break and this led to Emily Dean scoring a lovely goal from the edge of the box, which put Fry's in front 2 goals to 1.

The Fry club girls were now on top and came close to scoring on several occasions thanks to Amy each time she was denied by some fine goal keeping from the Bristol Central keeper.

Bristol Central girls came out after the half time break looking to get back on terms, and again sadly the Fry Club girls played to deep. The Fry's defence held thanks to more great defending and quality goal keeping, until at about twenty minutes into the second half Bristol Central scored their second to level the scores at 2-2. Again this seemed to stir the Fry's midfield into pushing out and Amy came close but no avail as the game ended level at 2-2.

This weeks player of the match was Amy who showed some great footwork and ball skills along with a gritted determination to get into a shooting position!
Also this week a mention in despatches must go to Charlotte, Emily Tite, and Chelsea well played Girls!
